Ah wells, can say I’m biased towards korean and japanese movie. but i’ve always enjoyed them. sad thing is, they usually have a short life in cinemas. glad i managed to catch it ^^
See synopsis:-
“My Girlfriend Can See Ghosts is a Korean horror movie along with touch of comedy and romance. In the movie, Yu-ri (Son Ye-jin) got a unique ‘sense’ and that is the reason is unable to live a normal life or even think about dating anyone. But one fine day Jo-gu (Lee Min-Ki), a horror magician (with frail ‘guts’) was struck with a cupid arrow and fell for her.
Their sweet dating game turns into a sheer nightmare with ghosts blocking in the way of their happiness.
Yu-ri is familiar with such ghostly phenomenon but Jo-gu is simply terrified. He then starts feeling that his life is now threatened. Despite the spine-chilling stumbling blocks, Yu-ri and Jo-gu cannot give up on their love and put up the fight of their lives to keep it.”
movies.. the getaway moments.. the stress-reliver.. during happy times. during bad times. during bored times. during strssed times. the thing that i always wanna do whenever i feel stressed. whenever i felt like i didnt have much of a life anymore. something that i always enjoy. today is another of such day when i felt that i needa catch a movie badly. it was pretty simple to choose one as there were many i wanted to catch. thankfully, i managed to catch seo for it 🙂
the movie was pretty good. though it wasnt as fantastic as i thought it’s be. so most probably a 3/5.
DANCING. dance dance dance away…
and in this movie, we saw the fusion of B Boys Street Dance and Salsa Latin Dance. A pretty interesting mix. and i suddenly feel like picking back salsa all over again. on top of my current interest in korean hip hop dances.
Today has indeed been eventful. Note the many things that could have hit the headlines. Or perhaps, today i just happened to be on the ball to receive these “exciting” news.
1) the aaron tan saga. apparently, a 14 year old boy hit on his ex-girlfriend and he “bo-song” which caused him to post a video online trying to threaten the 14 year old boy. mr brown retweeted: “I forgot aaron tan is 18. Good news: you won’t be going to Boy’s Home for your threats. Bad news: you qualify for prison.” i laughed till peng can. and of all people, he wants to learn from Steven Lim can! SERIOUSLY!! this is bad. very bad!!!
i mean seriously, in the video you (aaron tan), was criticising on how childish and immature the 14-year old boy is. How come he doesn’t see his actions as being immature as well? i call that the 死要面子。Seriously, he will grow to regret this. the video is spreading rampantly throughout the internet. overnight famous already. 有句名言说:“ 好事不出门,坏事传迁离”。good luck to this aaron guy. i hope he wakes up and hello! GROW UP! like seriously!
2) Service disruption on the North-South MRT line
news #2 is bad. and is super the bad. taxi price on the rise for 2 major taxi companies – Comfort Delgro and SMRT. then disruption for SMRT train. Disruption in Circle Line yesterday and NSL today. WIN. Seriously, is SMRT trying to boost their taxi’s business with all these disruptions? I am giving them the benefit of doubt. and hopefully, they do deserve my trust in them.
commuters were stuck in the immobile trains. and there were black out in some. the train window was smashed by a commuter. because there was hardly any ventilation in the train. i really hope that their service would improve soon.
think i am considered lucky to have missed the over crowded train because i wasn’t able to squeeze in. else, i dont know what time i’d be stuck in. chose to give up waiting for the train after waiting for about 20 minutes after i missed the first train. and went to take a bus with seo. indeed the bus was much faster than the train!
3) watched The Muppets. it was so funny i cldn’t help grinning to myself throughout the movie. reminds me of my childhood days. when things were much simpler. My fave muppet song from young: RainBow Connection.
oh, sesames street!
on a side note, i hope jasmine is feeling better. although i do not know what is happening or has happened. i hope she feels better now. or at least, speak to us. jasmine, if you’re reading this, know one thing. that is, no matter what, you still have us – me and seo. take care girl.
weekend was really packed. YOUths Care @ PAYM with my fellow YECs, Lion King with Wuan, and dinner and movie with JT.
YOUths Care @ PAYM: Green Xchange. The very first event for the new term. I hope i have less blunders with experience.
Lion King was amazing! i was totally awed!

Thought Ling Musafa is “manly” with his build and deep voice. Simba is cute. Nala is pretty. TImon and Pumba are funny! The cast is really good. the props, needless to say, are “wow”. the feeling is indescribable.
Met JT for dinner and movie. He is pretty nice. and it wasnt as awkward as what i fear to be. 🙂 Anw, the movie we caught – One Day.
Thought the movie is pretty nice too. But i dont like the twist in the ending. it makes me feel sad. like what JT said, life is short. and for every opportunity that comes by, grab it.
First time to Shaw Cinema at Lido. The place looks gorgeous after the renovation! and we caught this late night movie:
This is awesome! totally awesome! very very well filmed.
It’s not just the actions. it’s the emotions you can feel from the movie. the purity and innocence of a child. the yearning. it teaches to fight for your believes. it teaches to not give up easily. it teaches to treasure what you have.
Thanks YM, SC and HN for catching it with me 🙂
On a side note, i doubt i’ll ever patronize Medz again. Marche is still much better.
This song kinda got stuck with me after watching Johnny English on 19/09/2011. Real catchy. They actually sang this song to a dying guy to try to keep him alive. Cldn’t help laughing at the scene. HAHAHAHAHA!
